Uniland Wuxi held the opening ceremony of the WCS Academy on 2 March, 2012.

WCS COO Robert Koh, Uniland GM Douglas Han, Uniland Deputy GM Rex Yang attended and delivered speeches for the opening ceremony.

The initial training courses offered were a Java development and a software testing course with a total of 52 trainees. The training comprises of two months classroom training and one month project training. The classroom training has three components- technical training from experts, soft skills, and English training. Trainees also received company culture training from high level executives of WCS. The courses are geared to comprehensively improve the trainees' technological and language capabilities while instilling in them a sense of belonging to WCS. During the one month project training component, trainers from the Business Technology Consulting (BTC) department will assign projects, give guidance, and evaluate performances of the trainees. The Wuxi Professional IT training Institute (NIIT) is providing all classroom training and support.

The WCS Academy was started last year as a plan to cultivate WCS China's talent pool. Through careful planning and training, WCS Academy aims to produce outstanding trainees that will strengthen and better support WCS China's business development plan.
